(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 31. Edward Francis Kcrey, tailor, residing at Otahuhu, was drowned in the Tamatie river by the capsizing of a, sailing boat. Deceased and five other occupants wore thrown into the water. Two of the men supported three ladies until they wore rescued by a boat from the shore. WELLINGTON, Jan 3.1. Robert F. Semple, aged 21, a son of the ex-member of Parliament for Wellington South, sustained a compound fracture of his right, log on Saturday through the overturning of a rock-laden truck at the Orongorongo water works. Ho is progressing favourably. i HAWERA, Jan. 31.
Miss Violet Iloneylicld, a single woman, about 26 years of ago, was bathing with a young man named Brooks in the Waingongoro river yesterday afternoon when she got into difficulties. Brooks made every effort to got the lady out, but without result, The body was recovered and efforts at resuscitation continued for over an hour without success.
