FISHING BOAT SWAMPED.
FATALITY AT CASTLEPOINT.
(Per Press Association.) MASTERTON, Jan. 30,
A boating fatality occurred to-day at Castlepoint, a seaside resort 45 miles from Masterton. Four well known residents .of Masterton set out early in tho morning on a fishing expedition near the Lighthouse in a, flat-bottomed boat. The members of the party were Ivan 0 Connor, Clarence Hopkins. R. Biggs and H. Wooding, all married men. A heavy sea was experienced outside, and the boat swamped and upset. Tho boat was subsequently seen (hitting out lo sea with three men clinging to tho bottom. Last seen as it became en veloped in mist, it was going north m tho direction of Mataikoha. It is feared all hands have, been lost. Parties, from Masterton nnd the district arc searching the bcacli for the homes. [A g TERTO N, Jan. 31. No trace has yet been found of the men blown out to sot from Castlepoint.
