SHORTAGE OF PETROL.
6000 CASKS DIVERTED FROM
MELBOURNE

Steps have been taken by Mr Massey to abate the of petrol, which is being ' felt throughout the country. To relieve dairy fanners in the Waikafo who need petrol for their milking machines, arrangements have been made to forward supplies. Mr Massey has also arranged to divert to New Zealand from the cargo of tho Waihora, now at Wellington, 6000 cases consigned to Melbourne, The distribution is to be controlled by the Board of Trade. It is anticipated that reasonable supplies will be available at the end of tht> month.
