GREAT COTTON COMBINES.
CONTROL 116 MILLS. WANT EMPIRE PRODUCED COTTON. By Electrio Telegraph.—Copyright. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association Received December 29, 9.20 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 27. The Daily Chronicle says:—Great Lancashire combines are now controlling 116 cotton mills, and intend to charter their own steamers to convoy cotton to Liverpool. It is understood that they are urging tin Government to extend the growth of cotton within the Empire. They are ready to co-operate financially or otherwise.
