IRONMOULDERS’ STRIKE.

Negotiations failed to settle the ironmoulders’ strike, which 1 has now lasted three months, directly rendering idle 50,000 people, and indirectly another 100,000, involving a loss of two and a half millions in wages. A loading employer declares that the engineering trade is now practically at a standstill STRIKES IN SOUTH AFRICA.

One of the most awkward strikes on the Rand has ended by the decision of the Sirnmcrdecp- strikers to resume work pending the decision of the independent board of reference, regarding the employment of enemy subjects. The decision is awaited with intense interest as affecting the. question of preference to enemy Subjects over returned soldiers. . CAPETOWN. Dec. 26. Tho dock strike is easier. The strikers were evicted from the docks. Other Native labourers are coming and many vessels have been diverted to other ports.
