POSTMARK PROPAGANDA.
The Government's use of the postmark on our letters for conveying information of national importance appears to have come to stay, says the London; Daily Chronicle. • We believe this simple system of advertising was first used in America, seme time before the war, on behalf of one of the big international exhibitions. Our own Government adopted it very extensively in the War Loan Campaigns, and it was brought into uso in both the United States and Canada to emphasise the national necessity for food economy. The New Zealand Government has now gone a. step further, and is putting the idea into practice on behalf of the returned soldiers who are seeking employment. An envelope which reached us "this-morning from Chirstchurch J.W l.oldlv stamped by the Post Office with the two line appeal; "Give Preference to Men Who Have Fought For You: Hi tig up Repatriation Department."
