ARSON CHARGES.
(Pbe Piiksb Apbooution.) GISBORNE, Nov. 1. As a further sequel to the recent gasworks fire, .lohn Sheriff Dods, clerk at the gasworks, was arrested by Detective McLood to-day. He was later brought before' the .Magistrate and charged with arson and the theft ol various sinus belonging to the company. Detective Mcheod, in applying for a remand, said that Dods bad confessed to misappropriations, which altogether amounted to a very largo sum ol Frank Parnell, on remand on a charge of a'l.Noti in connection with the same"fire, will appeai' before the Court to-morrow, when a further remand will be asked lor.
