B.A., performed the ceremony, awklJrfcTyc presided -at the organ;: Ifce-teide; who was given away by her lather, was attended by 'Suss Annie Harvey, und Mr *K' Blaskett was best man. Alter the ceremony'a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, when the usual toasts were duly honoured. The happy couple, carrying with them the best wishes of a largo circle, of friends, ■ left for Napier, where/the honeymoon is to be spent. Tbo Churchof England social. hcW in the Town Hellion Wednesday evening was.a most successful gathering, there being | a large number present. Dancing was indulged in until the early morning, end during the evening itemsy Were given by the Revs. Tye'and Carr, irnu* Messrs Turner, Curtayne, and Longworth, and a glee party, sisting of Mesdamea Sankey, hardte, and Pawelka, Messri* Curtayne, Boyens, Longworth, Maunder, and' Rev. Tye tendered "Hail SmiUng'Morn." The dance music was piayed by Mesdamcs Hardie, Pawelka, and Mr Havill, and the different acompanyments by Mrs Hardie, Rev. Tye, and Mr Turner. Mr G. V R. Lovelock carried out the duties of M.C.. and the ladies' committee provided a first-class supper.-Several competitions were held, the winners being Mcsdames Wilson and' Pemberton, and Mastefc P. Feek Mr Officer, an employee of Mr Robert Port, of Raumai, had the misfortune to receive a very nasty kick from a horse whilst in Mr J. H. Paton'e blacksmith's shop on Wednesday. Ho wag unconscious for some time, and later was conveyed to the hospital, where he is progressing favourably. - The friends of Mrs John Smith will regret to -hear that she is an inmate of the hospital. Mr R. H. Browne has leased his Ballance farm, and will shortly take up his residence here. The many friends of Mrs Norris (eldest daughter of Mrs J. McCool, of this township) will regret to hear of her death, which took place at Stratford early this month. The deceased leaves a husband and three children to mourn their loss. Mr T. Farquhar has been re-appointed factory manager for the Co-op. Dairy Company.
