William Barnes, chairman of the Republican i&ate Committee, whom Mr Roosevelt attacked as unfitted for nomination at the primaries for the New York State Governorship, has brought ,a libel suit against Mr. Roosevelt claiming heavy damages. Mr Roosevelt endorsed Mr IJarvey Hinman against Mr Barnes, whom he criticised severely.
