The sale will start at 10.30. and will be continued without interval until,s o'clock, and every line to be offered is absolutely for sale. The goods to be offered includes a first-class lot of furniture to be sold on behalf-of a client leaving the district, being the contents of his 5-ropmed residence; also fruit and vegetables, spring tip dray, good Daniels incubator, Indian motor cycle, sadlery, horse and cow covers, and a very large consignment of well-bred fowls. The fowls will be offered at 2 p.m. precisely, and the sale will commence at 12 noon.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the fol lowing from their London house under date 23rd J ulv, 1914: wool sales: There were 138,000 bales wool sold, 34,000 being taken for the Continent and 17,000 bales for America; 8000 bales were held over. Market quotations unchanged 6ince last telegram. THE STOCK MARKET. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having held their usual weekly stock stile on Thursday, 23rd inst., when there was a medium entry of stock and a fair attendance of .buyers. Quotations: Dairy cows up to £B, weaner heifers £2 12s, store cows up to £4 5s 6d, bulls £5. Harry Palmer reports a successful clearing sale on account of Mr Young, Rangiotu. The attendance of buyers was large and bidding for the be*t of the herd was keen. Cows in profit sold at £9los, £lO, to £lO 2s 6d, earlv calvers £7, £7 10s, £7 15s. £B, £8 10s, £9, £9 10s, aged cows and late calvers £4 15s, £5, £5 10s, £6, £7, springing heifers £5 ss, weaners £1 calves ss, spring dray £l4 ss, weaner pigs 14s 9d and 10s 3d. Harness, sundries and furniture sold well, and every line without exception was disposed of.

Fat cattle 6old at late rates, and the fat sheep market was firm. Pig 6 were rather dull of sale, but there was no change in prices. Young store ewes and ewe hoggets (especially the latter) were in keen demand.
