PANAMA TOLLS.
EXEMPTION FIGHT IN THE SENATE. (Bi Euotbic Telegraph—Coftiiobt.) (PlB Falsa ASSOCTATTOK.) Received June 12, 8.20 a.m. WASHINGTON, June 11. The Senate defeated a series of amendments to the Canal Tolls Exemption Repeal Bill by a majority of ten votes. Thirteen Republicans voted on the Democratic Bide. An attempt is now pending to carry other amendments asserting American sovereignty, but it is considered probable the repeal forces will win. Repeated suggestions have been made to submit the dispute to arbitration.
