A HUNDRED YEARS PEACE.
BRILLIANT PAGEANT BALL. MAORI CHIEFS PRESENT. (By Blmtbio - HP«I PBB"l ABBOCUTTOW.) Received June 12. 9 a.m. LONDN, June 11. The ball arranged to celebrate the hundred years' peace between America and Britain at Albert Hall was a brilliant spectacle. There were wonderful costumes and the hall was arranged in an elaborate red, white and blue colour scheme. The New Zealand party was arranged bv Miss McKenzie and included the Maori chiefs. The ball was arranged to represent Columbus with two captains standing at the poop of the Santa Maria watching a procession of Indians, Pilgrim Fathers, Quakers, and French and Dutch pioneers. The second procession symbolised the English speaking people of the earth, and included an Australian party arranged by Lady Reid, wherein Dr. Mawson and other native-born people participated.
