LOAN PROPOSALS.
LIBRARY, SWIMMING BATHS, ANO PUBLIC WORKS. Tho recommendation of the Public ■Works Committee, that a poll should be taken on proposed loans for new library, swimming baths, and public works was adopijad by the Borough Council last; night. Tho Mayor said it would be advisable to submit tho three issues separately to tho ratepayers, and this was agreed to by. the Council. The proposed loans, which will bo secured at 4j- per cent, aro as follows: Library, £5255; swimming baths, £4940; public works, £12,200; total, £22,395. Tho Town Clerk was appointed Returning: Officer in connection with the poll.
