I CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS, j (Peb Pbehh association.? , HASTINGS, Oct. 19. The Hawke's Bay A. and P. Show opened to-day, there being a fair attendance. Sheep classes are of exceptional quality, the best known exhibitors in the Dominion being represented. Cattle arc above the usual standard, and competition is very keen, Shorthorns being particularly good, and the margin between the placed animals extremely small. Championship awards are: —Shropshire ram, P. Cooper; Shropshire ewe with lamb, A. V. Collins; Southdown rain, Nelson Bros.; Southdown ewe with lamb, Nelson Bros.; Lincoln ram, W. Perry; Lincoln ewe with lamb, Mrs J. D. Ormond; Romney ram, W. Perry; Border Leicester ram and owe, Mrs J. D. Ormond; English Leicester ram and ewe, Douglas _ McLean; Hereford bull, G. Wheeler's Crown Prince; draught sire,, three years and upwards, E. J. W. Harding's Baron Graceful; ditto mare, Mrs Ormond's entry; Berkshire boar, three years and upwards, Monckton and Fetch; Berkshire sow, J. H. Sellers.
