A HEW HIGH SCHOOL
(PEB PtIESP A RKOCSTATION.I GISBORNE, April 7. The Hon. Fowkls this afternoon performed the ceromony of opening the new High School buildings. There was a large attendance, and the proceedings were favoured with glorious weather. He approved of the decision of the governors to establish a school on broad modern lines. Under the proposed scheme about three-fifths of the work will be common to all the courses, the remainder being more or less specialised. It was an attempt to provide a reasonable and efficient secondary education for all sections of the community.
