STRANGE SHOOTING AFFAIR.
Reginald ■ Maloncy (16) was taken to Sydney Hospital on March 27 suffering from a revolver shot iu the leg. He was acommpanied by Michael Henderson, about the same age, and a younger boy, Dalton. Henderson told a strange story of a. wild man with two revolvers. Tho three were walking in the Haymarket, near the site of St. Francis' Church, when they saw a number of young fellows calling out to an elderly man, and throwing' stones at him. The man suddenly grew very excited under the treatment he was receiving, and, plunging his right- hand into his coat pocket, he drew out a revolver and fire, i„yimediateiv afterwards dragging another revolver with his left hand from another pocket-, and fired that also. Tho first shot lodged in Maloncy'r calf, tho second, so far as is known, did no harm. As soon as tho shots were fired tho crowd scattered, and the man cscaped.
