On Thursday next the festival of Ireland's patron Saint will be fittingly celebrated in Palmerston North by a concert, to be held in the Zealandia Hall, when a programme of music, song and story of a truly national character will be con-

The music of Ireland is truly characteristic of that brave, impulsive, generous people. Bright and stirring, 6ad and mournful, a curious blending of that sparkling wit, for which

Ireland has in all ages been famous, and that melancholy, a vein of which, implanted no doubt by tho sad history of her country, 16 to be found even in the most fortunate and prosperous of her sons. The choicest of these gems of ancient and modern Irish music will be included in the concert for St. Patrick's night, and should prove irresistible not only to Irishmen, but to all lovers of good music.
