The attention of our sporting readers is drawn to the fact that entries for several of the events at, the sports meeting, to be held at Levin on St. Patrick's Day, close with the secretary this evening. There are some very Interesting events to be decided, foot races, motor cycle, bicycle races, pony races, trots and jumping competitions, and the prizes are valuable trophies in each event, totalling £50. Should the Association be favoured with good weather, a good day's sport is assured. Entries may be made up to 10 p.m. to-night, or if posted to-day they will be accepted on Monday.

While Pahnerston North is a town of no mean size and importance, it is hardly large enough for the best development of some of our Dominion industries, and certainly not. in itself large enough to invite the permanent residence of f,uch professional practitioners as depend upon a, very large clientele for adequate eup 7 port.
