The Press Association confirms the .statement that four Dreadnoughts will be laid down in 1910, but power is also taken to begin two others if advisable. This policy is likely to bocome a settled principle of work with the Admiralty. The following are Waihi mine quotations on the Stock Exchange today,:—Waihi: Buyers £9 16s 3d, sellers £9 18s 9d. Grand Junction: Buyers 26s 3d, sellers 27s 6d. CONSTANTINOPLE, Feb. 7. The Turkish Cabinet has adopted Admiral Gamble's scheme of spending 500,000 Turkish pounds annually for eight years, on the construction of two battleships, three cruisers, and ten destroyers. Most of these will be built in Britain. The Sultan subscribed £100,000 towards the National Naval Fund. PARIS, Feb. 7. Fears of a fever epidemic as a result of the flood in Paris have relaxed.
