ALL BLACKS WIN AGAIN.
London, November 9. At Bournemouth, the All Blacks defeated Hampshire-Sussex by 14 points to 8 after leading 9 to nil at half-time. The weather was fine • and sunny. Twelve thousand were present. - • Tindill replaced Page, who decided not to ridk his leg although he played only twice during the tour. Counties attacked immediately, but the All Blacks relieved the pressure. Gilbert missed a penalty from a long distance and Tindill failed in an attempt at a drop kick goal from twenty-five yards out. Oliver, bursting through, secured an excellent opening and passed to Hart who was pushed out at the corner. A few seconds later McKenzie scored a try by sheer weight. Gilbert failed to convert. N.Z. 3; Hampshii’e-Sussex nil. The Counties pressed and appeared likely to score when Hart intercepted and passed to Oliver, V*ho initiated a spectacular movement in which Caughey and Hark participated, the latter Gilbert’s kiefk failed. N.Z. 6; Hamp-sWe-Sussex nil.
Then McKenzie luckily went over from a scramble on the line. The kick failed. N.Z. 9; HampshireSussex nil.
The All Blacks were less impressive than the score suggests. The croAyd protested Avhen the__ All Blacks leapt on the back of an opponent before the ball was thrown in from the line-out. Counties maintained the pressure. Beating the All Blacks at dribbling, Newton quickly folloAved up and flung himself over for. a try. Owen converted. .. N.Z. 9, Hampshire-Sussex 5. The All Blacks staged.a sparkling rally. Corner smartly picked up in the Counties’ tAventy-five and scored between the posts. Gilbert converted. N.Z. 14; HampshireSussex 8.
A terrific struggle continued until the end, the final score being: N.Z. 14; Hampshire-Sussex 8.
