HERRINGTON GOLF CLUB.
CLOSE OF The official closing of the Herrington Golf Club took place over the week-end when in spite of the inclement weather there was a good attendance of members and visitors from Oroua Downs and Shannon were also present. Mr F. A. Mason (vice-president) in the unavoidable absence of lslr. M. B. Bergin (President) in a brief speech, commented on the very successful season which the Club had experienced and also made special mention of the club’s indebtedness to Mrs J. H. Robinson for the use of her property, a privilege which the members greatly appreciated. Mr Mason then presented the trophies which had been won during the season, the results of the various competitions being as follows, —
Ladies’ Championship: Mrs E. T. Wilson. The cup awarded for this competition, at the beginning of the season has to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals, a miniature cup being presented to the winner on each occasion. Senior Stroke Competition; Miss N. Robinson; L.G.U. Bronze Medal: Mss N. Woods; Junior Stroke Competition: Mss N. Woods; Junior Bogey Competiiton: Mrs N. Robinson; Three 'Card Handicap Competition: Mrs L. C. Bryant; Eclectic: Mrs ,S. R. Austin; C grade Handicap: Mrs F. A. Mason; C Grade Stroke: Miss R. Easton; C Grade Bogey: M*s F. A. Mason; Men’s Championship: Mr Jack Purcell; Best qualifying round: Mr V. B. Collins. " I
At the conclusion of the presentation of the trophies afternoon tea was served by the lady members bringing to a close a very pleasant afternoon.
