Airs A. Watt Brown, of Wanganui East, is at present on a visit to Foxton.
Air and Airs H. A. Hannay left on Friday on a motor tour of the north.
A visitor to Foxton over the weelk-end was Airs F. D. Whibley, of Westport, an ex-Foxton resident.
Hon. E. A. Ransom (Alinister of Lands), who recently underwent a minor operation in a private hospital in Dannevirke, has now returned to his home.
The death occurred at Wellington yesterday morning of Air Louis Proctor Blundell, senr., a proprietor and chairman of the “Evening Post,” at the.ripe old age of 84 vears.
Owing to slight- indisposition, Archbishop Redwood has entered Lewisham Hospital at. Wellington. He will not proceed to Melbourne to participate in the Australian National Eucharistic Congress next month as previously intimated.
The death occurred in Palmerston N. on Tuesday last of Mr Alfred Clarke, the first secretary of the Alanawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association from 1886 to 1890. The late Air Clarke was born in Norfolk. England, 78 years ago and arrived at Palmerston N. 50 years ago when he was appointed secretary of the Association. In 1890 he was succeeded by Air G. C. Aides. Ten yvears ago lie retired from business. Airs Clarke died in 1925. There is no family.
