The following statement showing the position of unemployment relief under No. 5 scheme was contained in the monthly report on the County Engineer (Mr. J. T. M. Brewster), presented to the Horowhenua Council on Saturday:— Levin: 165 men; employment: With 9!) farmers; wages for period £242 13/9. Waikanae: 5 men; Employment: with 3 farmers; wages for period £5 12/6. AA’aikanae: S men;"Employment: with County; wages for period £9 10/-; total wages paid £257 16/3.
