THE WHIROKINO HIGHWAY.
‘•TIME SOMETHING WAS DONE” SAYS ME. LINKLATER, M.P.
“It is time that something was done in regard to that bugbear to traffic,” said Mr. J. Linklater, M.P., in referring to the Whirokino road, recently the subject of serious flooding, at the dinner tendered at Palmerston North on Tuesday evening to delegates attending the annual conference of the North Island Motor Union. “Some steps,” he continued, “will have to be taken. The engineer to the Manawatn County Council has brought forward a scheme which, I think, will be acceptable to the motorists of New Zealand. The matter is a national one, so that it is only fair that the Government sho’uld help.”
