In the House of Representatives yesterday the Prime Minister CEIon. G. Forbes) moved that urgency lie accorded the Address-in-Roplv debate, pointing out I hat lie desired to dispose of this item Avithoul undue delay. Meinhcrs would have ample -opportunity of referring to the Government’s proposals when the particular legislation dealing with them came before the House. Labour members called for a division on the motion, which was carried by 44 to 17. The debate on the Address-in-Reply Avas then continued, and at nine o’clock a division Avas taken rn the amendment of Air AleConibs, which Avas defeated by 45 to 22. In addition to the Labour members, Messrs Fletcher and RushAvortli voted for the amendment. A further amendment Avas moved bv Air M. J. Savage.
