ROYAL PICTURES. The dangers of circumstantial evidence are clearly shown in "The Devil’s Partner,” Truart’s latest Western production to., be screened at the Royal Theatre to-morrow night. This great and unusual story features a splendid cast of film favourites. It,'is a story which combines mystery, romance and intrigue, with thrilling horsemanship and fast action. A daring band of cattle rustlers aroused a little Western town. How they were captured provides a fine night’s entertainment. Norma Shearer, in the dual role of a debutante and a girl of the underworld will delight patrons at the Royal on Friday night, when “The Lady of the Night” will be screened. It is a picture that tells an exciting story of a crossed love in the lives of a Judge’s daughter and a convict’s daughter with realistic and thrilling detail. BEBE DANIELS IN “THE SPLENDID CRIME.” Bebe Daniels, star of “The Splendid Crime,” at the Town Hall tomorrow evening, gets plenty of physical exefcise during the unfolding of the plot. In the role of Jenny, the droll little crook 1 of this human and humorous story, she has to fight burly police officers, climb in and out of second storey windows, and in the finish, outwit her own gang in an exciting chase. Her supporting cast includes Neil Hamilton, Anne Cornwall and Fred Walton. The comedy on Wednesday is “Hypnotised,” and other films are Scree® Snapshots, and Australian Gazette, showing the finalists in “Miss Australia” beauty competition. Prices as usual. A fine detective drama set in the San Francisco underworld has been selected to head Friday and Saturday’s programme. It is entitled “On Thin Ice,” and features the popular stars Tom Moore, Edith Roberts and William Russell. A special comedy “Radio Mad” is on the same programme. Usual prices.
