FOOTBALL.
FOXTON RUGBY SUBUNION. The annual general meeting of the Foxtou Rugby Sub-Union, was held in Mr Hamer’s rooms on Tuesday evening. Present Messrs Hynes and Reid (Awahou), Robinson and Whibley (Albions), and the Secretary. The minutes of the last annual general meeting were read and confirmed. The annual report and balancesheet, showing a credit balance of £4 16s gd were read and adopted. It was decided that the number ol Vice-Presidents of the Sub-Union be limited to two for each Club, to be nominated by the Club. The following officers were elected for the ensuiug year;— Patron, Mr E. Newman, M.P. ; President, Mr J. K. Hornblow; Vice-Presidents, Messrs Franklaud and O. Robinson (nominated by the Albion Club), aud Mr G. H. Stiles and Dr Maudl (nominated by the Awahou Club) ; Treasurer, Mr R. Hynes ; JointSecretaries, Messrs P. T. Robinson and F. D. Whibley. ,
Mr Wauklyu said that there was every probability of bpth senior and junior teams being entered by the Sanson and Rongotea Clubs. The Secretaries were instructed to communicate with the Manawatu Rugby Union, asking them to prevent players residing within the Sub-Union’s boundaries from playing in the competition controlled by the Manawatu Union. It was decided to approach the Shannon Football Club re playing in the Sub-Union’s competition, aiid if they are agreeable, to wire the Horowhenua Union, asking for their sanction. It was decided to arrange a benefit match for Mr W. Walden, to be played on the racecourse on Saturday, and the Secretaries were instructed to get the necessary tickets printed. It was also decided that the Sub-Union meet every Thursday evening, the next meeting to be held on the 29th inst. Other minor matters were discussed and the meeting rose.
