Griffiths and Son report haying held i a most successful sale of furniture and ' effects at the residence of Mr A. Spencer, Main Street, yesterday. There was a very "large attendance, and; bidding was spirited throughout. Some of the prices realised were: -'- Small sideboard £5, wardrobe £4, washstand £2 6s, set of ware 265,; Austrian chairs os 6d, rocking chair j 17s 6d, wicker chairs 10s eadh, dining" table £2, kapoc beds 17s (xl, 13s, and lls 6d; wire mattresses 19s 6d, couch £2 4s, chest of drawers £1 14s. The firm's next sale will be held on Saturday next at 1.30 p.m., when they will offer a consignment of jewellery, E.P. ware, etc.

On Saturday Griffiths and Son will also offer for sale, in behalf of Mr D. H. Black, his residential property off Main Street. The property comprises one acre of land, with a frontage to three streets, together with a fourroomed cottage and adjoining shed. Mr Black has taken up a section at Hillersden, and the reserve has accordingly been fixed at a very low figure, and good terms are offered. •
