It found that 3000 people had been killed and 6000- inju rea. It was almost impossible to approach some villages owing to the stench from unburied corpses. Tremors . continue. There are numerous deep fissures. Only a few houses on the sea-front at Myriophitton remain standing. Red Crescent and Greek ambulance societies are doing good work.
