3000 KILLED AND 6000 INJURED.
[press association*! (Received Aug. 18, 5.5 p.m.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Aug. 17. The American man-of-war Scorpion visited the scene of the recent earthquake. It found that 3000 people had been killed and 6000- inju rea. It was almost impossible to approach some villages owing to the stench from unburied corpses. Tremors . continue. There are numerous deep fissures. Only a few houses on the sea-front at Myriophitton remain standing. Red Crescent and Greek ambulance societies are doing good work.
