"TAFT A DEAD ISSUE."

Mr Roosevelt, opening his campaign at Boston, declared that Mr Taft was a dead issue in American politics. The huge meeting sang hymns, notabiv "Onward Christian Soldiers."
Mr Roosevelt said that he sought to introduce the observance of the Ten Commandments as the golden rule of American public life1. He replied1 to critics accusing, him in connection with his association with Mr Perkins, Mr Morgan's associate. Mr Perkins, he said, was absolutely convinced of the value and justice of the Progressive Republican movement, and had joined it bona fide.
