WAR THE MAN JUSTIFIED?

NAPIER,, March 15
J. Har.nay waa charged at the Police Court yesterday with firing shots at three men on the previous evening Defendant said the men molested him when he was taking a girl home from th© picture show, and afterwards they waylaid him when he was by himself near his own residence. Ho went in and got a shot-gun and discharged both barrels, in order, he alleged, to frighten thorn. On© man was struck by a pellet, but the others were uninjured. ''■;■■ Accused was remanded till to-day.
