TO THE EDITOB. Sir, —What were the police doing last night to allow High Street to be blocked by a crowd who were viewing some pictures and advertisements which were thrown upon a sheet erected between the Club Hotel and Griffiths and Son's premises? It j seems a most singular thing that any individual who comes along and gives ;a semi-free,show should be permitted to obstruct the traffic in the manner j ■in which it was done last night. Perhaps someone will explain the reason of it. BLOCKED.
