BELATED CHALLENGE FROM
ENGLAND
[press association.] SYDNEY, March 9
The secretary of the Tennis Association to-day received a cablegram from the secretary of the English Association, challenging for the Davis Cup. The cablegram is dated London, March Sth. As the regulations provide that challenges should reach the champion nation not later than the first Monday in March, it is two days late. The secretary of the Australasian Association has advised the president of the American Association, asking if that Association is agreeable to the acceptance of the challenge seeing that it arrived late. No further steps will be taken.
