" "Six booksellers were charged at the Magistrate's Court to-day with .selling s-copies of the New Zealand Truth, a}-, leged to contain matter of an indecent nature. The S.M., Mr Riddell, said the articles appeared in a newspaper; which was sold indiscriminately. In' his opinion they Were indecent. Anywho stocked the papers had .a reasonable opportunity of learning their contents. Each defendant ifined £1, with costs varying from £1 18s. 6d to £3 10s. John Thomas McKinnon, manager ofTrtith who was similarly charged, was fined £5 with £3 9s costs on one •charge, and £1 with £3 14s costs on the second. Notice of appeal was given.
