TUB, MILLAR IN THE WEST. [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] -REEFTONJ May 19. • The' Hon. Mr Millar last nigl^fc ;strongly defended the action of the Government in presenting a Dreadnought to Great Britain1. Some day men would know the full reasons. It was impossible to run the risk off deieat of the British Fleet, and danger to our commerce. The enthusiasm with which the gift/was received in the Home country showed its value. "The Minister was cheered. Replying tq a .deputation urging railway extension to Crushington, the Minister said if Reeftmi residents guaranteed any deficiency in the income arising from that extension the Jin© could be constructed. The offer was cordially received, as, the line would open* up big coal fields, and make the Consolidated Company's new roasting (of concentrates) works there the 'Cockle Creek of .New Zealand. , '.
