WEDDING BELLS.

WIFFEN—SHAND

Yesterday rafter noon, at. the Presbyterian Church, Balclutha/Mr Percy Wiffen, second son of Mr Arthur Wiffen, of Blenheim, was married to Miss Belle Shand, second daughter of Mr Charles Shand, of Barnego Farm, Balclutha. The Rev;. Mr Currie was the officiating clergyman. The bride, whoi was given away by her father, was attired in. a lovely dress of cream eolienne, made in Empire style, with yoke of real "lace and trimmings of rucked chiffon and silver tassels. She also wore a hand-embroidered tulle veil and orange-blossoms, and carried a handsome shower bouquet. She was attended by four bridesmaidsMisses Elsie Shand (her sister), Jessie Miller and May and Evelyn MeFeters, two.: tiny tots. The elder bridesmaids wore dainty dresses of pink mousseline ac soie, prettily trimmed with cream lace and insertion, and pink sashes. Their hats were of cream jaiaterial, trimmed with pink roses, and ithev carried handsome bouquets. The two small bridesmaids were dressed, in white muslin, with pale blue caps and sashes to match. They both carried crooks with pale blue satin streamers. Mr Hubert Wiffen, brother of the bridegroom, fulfilled the duties of best man, and Mr Joseph Shand, brother of the bride, those of groomsman. After the ceremony tho guests were entertained at •the residence of' the bride's parents. I Mr and Mrs Wiffen then left on their j honeymoon tour by motor-car. The j bride's travelling-dress was a navy blue face cloth costume, with lace \ vest, and navy blue silk hat, trimmed with pale;blue feathers and tulle. She J also wore a pale blue feather boa. The

bridegroom's pi-esent- to the bride was

a silver-mounted dressing-case, and the bride's to the bridegroom a gold albert. To the bridesmaids the bridegroom gave gold' and greenstone pendants. After their honeymoon Mr and Mrs Wiffen will settle in Blenlieim. .
