CANVASTOWN.

(Our Own Correspondent.)

On Saturday night some contemptible indiviuual went through Mr McGuire's meat safe for 201bs of very nice.beef, and the oat bin also suffered, about half a bag of oats doing the disappearing trick. At the hockey match on Saturday Miss M. Young received a very nasty hit from the ball in the right eye. This rendered Miss Young unable to continue playing. > :

It will-be of interest to the Canvastown cricketers to know that Mr McGuirs is going to make a pitch for them. This will be encouraging to the lovers of the good old game. • I understand that a skating ririk :s most likely to start in Canvastown shortly. .This will be a change, but I don't think it will improve the floor for the dancing people.
