For the first day of the Auckland Racing Club's autumn meeting the weather wa9 beautifully fine, and there was a large" attendance. The totalisator receipts amounted to £10,731. Tradesmen's Plate Handicap.—Putty 1, Idas 2, Bacchus 3. Scratched—Ro sella, Green and Gold, Annoyed, St. Gordon, Queen Anne. Won by threequarters of a length. Time, 2min 12 3-sth sec. Dividends, £2 5s 6d and £1 6s. Northern Champagne Stakes.—Kamo 1, Ropa 2, Melodeon 3. Scratched— Orewa, Stibbington, Alba Rose, Bonheur, Lady Bobs, Desdemona. Won by a good length comfortably. Time, lmin 17 3-sth sec. Dividends, £1 3s Gd and £2 Is. Kamo and Rose Shield were bracketed on the machine. Golden Easter Handicap.—Golden Rose 1, Jewellery 2, Landlock 3. Scratched —Northumberland, Paul Seaton. Won well in hand by two lengths. Time, lmin 41sec. Dividends, £6 0s 6d and £8 11s 6d. Hurdle Race Handicap.—Awahuri 1, Bellman 3, Cavaliero 3. Scratched —Royal Conqueror, Battleaxe. Won by two lengths comfortably. Cavaliero pulled up lame and Liugard fell. Time 3min 51|sec. Dividend, £ i 17s. Eden Handicap.—Marshal Sou/t 1., Green and Gold 2, Grey Seaton 3. Scratched —Dolores and Miss Lottie. Won by a length. Time, lmin 29£ sec. Dividends, £2 14b and 15s 6d. Onslow Stakes Handicap.—Delania 1, Alba Rose 2, Lady Bobs and Te Aroba, dead heat, 3. All started. Alba Rose was defeated in the last four strides by half a length. Time, lmin 4-J-sec.
