The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting commenced to-day in fine weather. There was an enormous attendance, and the Premier was amongst those present. The great attraction was tho match between Ribbonwood and Fi itz. The latter was quite outclassed, Ribbonwood winning the three straight heats, and reducing tho record in tbe third to 2min lOsec Following are the results : — Match for £1100, mile heats, best 3in 5. First heat: Ribbon wood 1, Fritz 2 ; time, 2min 14 1 ssec : dividend, £110s. Second heat: Ribbonwood 1, Fritz 2; time, 2min I3sec Third heat: Ribbonwood 1, Fritz 2; time 2min lOsec ; dividend, £1 4s. Middleton Handicap (harness), two miles:—McKinley 1, Senator 2, Phcsnix 3. Won easily. Time, 4niin 59sec. Dividends, £2 and £1 10s. Christchurch Handicap (harness), two miles.—Candidate 1, Victory 2, Verax 3. Won easily. Time, 4min 49sec. Dividend, £2 18s and £2.

St. Alban's Handicap (harness), two miles.—Harold O. 1, Collector 2, Black Child 3. Won by 12 lengths. Time, 4min SOaec. Dividends, £4 14s and £6 18s.
