At a conference of delegates of the horticultural societies a number of papers wero read aud discussed, including one on bee culture. A resolution was passed that, with a view;-to helping bee culture, the Government should appoint a bee expert, and that the Government be recommended to pass legislation to enable the Agricultural Department to deal with foul brood.
