It has just transpired that there was an alarm of fire at To Koraha during the time the Duke and Dachoss were staying there.

Late on Sunday night a bright flare in one of the downstairs rooms attracted; 'attention, and two firemen who kepti watch night and day were soon, on the spot.

The lire spread rapidly, and it seemed as though the whole houso was in imminent danger. '

The Duke and Duchess, who with the household wore aroused, displayed great coolness.

After considerable difficulty the flames were subdued, just as the Fiwj Brigade was about to be summoned* - The room where the fire originated was very much damaged.
