At a meeting of tbe Rugby Union's Management Committee on Thursday night, a letter was received from Mr Dempsey resigning bis position on the Selection Committee. The resignation wne accepted with great regret The Wait ohi Club was debarred from playing, pending the payment of its referee's fees. The same Club wrote asking that T. Fugh ba allowed to play m to-day's junior match. The Com mittee decided that tbe request could not be granted, and at tbe same time classified Pugh as a senior. In the football banner competition a match Koromiko v. Wairau has been drawn to take place on Saturday, the 24th instant. The Auckland Rugby Union has written to the Marl borough Union, regretting that tbe Auckland representative team will be unable to visit Blenheim. The Wairau Football Club play a team from Haveloek on Saturday the 17th instant, at Flenlitiui.
