[UNITED FBKBB ASSOCIATION.] Sydney, June 28. Sir Henvy Parkes presided at a meeting of the Federal Party this evening, at which a programme was adopted making Federation the constant and supreme object m political hfe m future, and tending to foster the idea that the National Government should be invested -with the sole power to impose Customs duties. Other planks adopted were the promotion of domestic legislation to advance the internal interests of the Colony ; the abolition of patronage combined with economy m the Civil Service ; and the prevention of the influx of inferior races. An explanatory note was added that m the mattor of taxation, the accomplishment of Federation will compel the resort to direct taxation for the purposes of the State Government m supplementation of the proportional sums received from Federal Customs Bevenue, and m the meantime other matters of more urgency to meet jjhe wanteoftWpeople demand im« mediate~W2Pfc§&. " A7~sird~ng"oomaritteo was formed and decided to make Federation the feature of the elections.
