At the annual meeting of the Direct Importing Company, a dividend of 7} pet cent, as against 7 per cent last year, was declared, also a bonus of 4 per cent on the shareholders purchases. The chairman, Mr Hallenstein, took a very hopeful view of the future of the colony. Captain Fairchild, of the Hinemoa, which left for one of her regular oruises this morning, has been instructed to double the size of the food depots on the Auokland and Campbell Islands ; to build a boathouse at the Auckland's, and leave two boats there, and also to erect a new depot at the Bounty Islands.
