ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
».- (UNITED PBES3 ASSOCIATION.) Invebcabgill. January 5. A driver named Aspray, on the last car from Gladstone, wa3 killed last night. No one was on the platform with him, and how the accident happened is unknown. It is supposed he had dropped the reins, and m attempting to recover them fell over. The cnr wheel had gone over his jaw and throat, and he must have died instantly. Henry Manders, formerly representative for Lake Wakatipu m Parliament died, suddenly this morning. Wellington, January 5. A chemist at Palmerston North named Williams was found dead m bed yesterday. As he was known to be m the habit of taking morphia, it is supposed this had something to do with it.
