Jho 'Sydney Daily Telegraph,' in publishing from a New Zealand newspaper an account of the rapidly increasing Chinese settlement at Tahiti, .says, ".It indicates a development of grave and far-reaching importance." After referring to the Hooding or Hawaii with Japanese, and Fiji with Hindus and the danger arising 1 herefrom the paper says, "It might yet turn out that whilo tlm Jnounoso hav<* overwhelmed Hawaii ami the Chinese have greatly gjiined predominance in the other groups a new and formidable Asiatic force had suddenly risen up in the Pacific."
