CROSSING FATALITY.

A MILKMAN'S DEATH. TBB UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION DANNEVIRKE, Sept. 26. A fatal accident occurred at the Rawhiti Street crossing this morning. The .second train from Palmerston North was approaching Dannevirke and Mr J. Brown, a milkman, of LaAv's Road, who was returning home, attempted to cross in front of the train. His horse sweiTed and the engine struck the cart, throwing Brown a distance of 30yds. The engine carried him some distance be/oi'o it was pulled up. Brown sustained a fractured skull, and died on tho way to the hospital. ' The horse wa& also killed and tho trap smashed to matchwood. Deceased had traversed the road daily for yeans.
