WENDON NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The weather hero has been fairly lino for the last week, hut to-night it is raining. The bushes are beginning to sprout, the "Stone Jacks" are on tlio go, and.l notice that some birds have begun to build their nests. All this shows that spring has come. Owing to l!ii! good winter stock" are looking fairly well considering that there has been a scarcity of feed. A few. of the farmers here had to sell a lot of their sheep, but if the spring is favorable, the Hocks will soon be out oi all danger. W'endon is a great place for changes. Another one has just taken place, the farm of Mr John Scott having been purchased by Mr Anderson. He is reckoned to 1m a very fortunate man, and it is said that he now owns one of the best sheep farms in Wendon.

Last Friday the School Committee was busy trying to improve the look of things about the school in the way of gravelling, but there still remains a good; deal to be done yet as the. road is fairly bad. The. school, as usual, made a very good pass. A great many schools, when they have a change, of teachers, get mixed up in the work, but the AVendon school did not. The Wendon people have been very fortunate in the way of getting good teachers. The Sunday school is closed just now on account of the roads being so bad. AVe have a!«o lost one of the teachers, but it is to be hoped that some suitable person will take his place. 1 am very sorry to say that our minister, the Uev. Mr Melanes, has been very ill, but it is to be hoped that he will soon be able to take his ple.ee again.
