A Westport coalminer namol Edward .Tones was killed in tho Westport Goal Company’s mine to-day by a fall of coal. Dunedin, Nov 17. Davil Samuel was fined 20s and costs for selling light weight bread. Giißi.sTCitunnr, Nov 17. At a meeting held in the Oddfellows’ Chamber to-night it was decided to establish a Labor Union here. Mr W. If. Honking was elected President. A resolution was passed urging tho Government to provide work other than that at Kaikoura for the unemployed.
