THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE BRITIS H-AUSTRA LI A\ T MAIL SERVICE (Reuter’s Telegrams.) Received Jan. 5, 5.30 p.m. Lond jN, Jan 4. An important meeting in connection with the Imperinl Institute will be held on the twelfth inst at the Mansion House when'- tbo Agents General for the Colonies will be present.
Stevenson Blackwood, Secretary to the Post Office, in reply to a communication from the AgentGeneral for South Australia, has informed him that negotiations are still proceeding with the Orient and Peninsula and Oriental Companies for the carriage of mails between the United Kingdom and Australia, but as yet nothing is definitely settled.
